The Battle of Velletri was fought in 1744 during the War of the Austrian Succession.
The 1744 campaign was one of the greatest military enterprises of the Bourbon state, second only to the Battle of Garigliano.
The outcome of the battle thwarted once and for all the Austrian designs on the Two Sicilies.
The book reconstructs the context and details of the campaign in a new way, analyzing the strategy aimed at wearing down the adversary with the maneuver and its elements (propaganda, intelligence, diplomacy, treatment of civilians).
The work is richly illustrated with 70 plates of portraits of the protagonists, original maps of the itineraries and battles, and uniforms and flags based on previously unpublished research and reconstructions.
